Growin’ Like a Weed

Tuesday, January 31st, 2006

Meara just had her nine month doctor’s appointment, and it’s official: She’s growing like a weed . She’s now twenty nine inches long, and seventeen pounds four ounces. We’ve had a few concerns still that maybe she’s not getting enough to eat, because she doesn’t have the baby chubbiness. [...]

New Gentoo Review

Friday, January 20th, 2006

Just thought I’d post about a wonderful NEW review of Gentoo Linux that very skillfully explains the pro’s and con’s of the distro. Very well written from the stand point of a new user as well…

Konica Minolta Cameras Are No More

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

In other news, which comes as a total surprise, Konica Minolta has officially announced their intentions to leave the photography market. They do plan on continuing to produce products associated with their partnership with Sony, however all Konica Minolta labelled products are going to go away. For one who’s been involved with photography ever since [...]

Watch what you Google

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

Of course it was just a matter of time before such a thing occurred, but News.com just had post about the government requesting search records from Google. Many of you who watch tech news have probably already heard about this, and I know many have already put in their two cents on this one. However, [...]

UWin

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

As posted on OSNews.com, AT&T Research has just released UWin.  It appears at the present to be similar to the Cygwin project, in that it allows you to build and run unix applications in a Windows environment.  I for one find utilities like these very helpful for when ever I am stuck [cough]… [forced]…[cough]… in [...]

Watch Out for Burning Mice

Monday, January 9th, 2006

CNN just reported one of the most unique stories I’ve heard in a long time. A man tried to kill a mouse he had found in his house by throwing it into a pile of burning leaves he had in his back yard. The burning mouse then ran back into the house, which [...]

The World Lost a Good Man Today…

Saturday, January 7th, 2006

This morning, my Grandfather passed away after an ongoing battle with multiple medical problems. Maynard was a man that always did what ever it took to provide and care for his family, and person that has most definitely made a strong impact on any life he touched. We all love you Grandpa.
From the Brush News-Tribune:
Maynard [...]

Going Creative, Commons That Is…

Sunday, January 1st, 2006

I’ve decided to move my blog and my photo gallery under a creative commons, no commercial, share-alike license that way (mostly for the pictures) no one ever gets the insane idea of using my stuff for commercial reasons without my permission. All of the projects that I’ve already posted will continue to be GPL respectively, [...]

Sporting the Big 2.0

Sunday, January 1st, 2006

Wordpress 2.0 was just released a couple days ago, and I’ve already upgraded my blog to it.  So far I’m pretty impressed with the improvements, which so far appear to mostly be towards the administration side of the webapp.  If anyone has any problems with the blog, let me know.
