Great Commercial…

Saturday, October 30th, 2004

I know I’m probably violating many copyrights by doing this (then again it’s only a commercial, and I doubt IBM would mind free advertising), but I have to post up here what I think is the best commercial ever made (like there are many to compete with) for linux. Not only in that it [...]

Link Happy…

Wednesday, October 27th, 2004

Secunia.com seems like a pretty nice central place to get details on security patches and holes related to many different products. I like the fact that they mention when specific linux distro’s have a patch available for a security issue or but…

Strike Three…

Wednesday, October 27th, 2004

I have officially seen everything. The only words that come to my mind is “oh my god… what is wrong with you?”. The democratic jabber-mount, I beleive his name is Sidon, comes onto NBC on the Today Show trying to imply that everything that occured at that weapons dump is no confirmable. [...]

What a second… What really happened?

Tuesday, October 26th, 2004

Today officially marks the beginning of my mistrust for the main-stream news sources in the US. As a normal, every day guy that tries his hardest to stay out of politics as much as he can, while completing my duty to vote. I think it’s time for a shout for the media to [...]

Tip: Disable auto-init of wifi cards in gentoo…

Tuesday, October 26th, 2004

It you have worked with Gentoo and wireless network adapters you probably notice a certain behavior, where your network device starts and attempts dhcp (or setting the IP address), whether you run rc-update add net.ethX default or not. Well, that’s thanks the some default functionality in the script /etc/pcmcia/network (from pcmcia-cs), and here’s the [...]

Sick, and not productive :(

Thursday, October 21st, 2004

I truly hate being sick. Went to the doctor yesterday, but of course they had to decide it was something viral, thus letting things just run their course. I think I finally realized that it just because i had to be tied down and unable to accomplish things that I need to get [...]

The Day the Every Day Democrat Changed His Mind…

Tuesday, October 19th, 2004

Disclaimer: This is nothing more than my 2 cents. I don’t expect you to like it, as your opinion is your own and no one can change that…
People who know me personally, for most part, should know that I am a person that is very torn politically. I generally agree with most [...]

Gentoo -> OpenMotif Emerge Fail…

Tuesday, October 12th, 2004

I have still been able to reproduce a continued issue with openmotif where if I have enabled the following lines in my make.conf, it’s compile WILL fail:
FEATURES=”ccache”
CCACHE_SIZE=”2GB”
MAKEOPTS=”-j2″
Easy fix: Comment those lines. I have still yet to test if it’s due to the ccache or to the jobs obtion to make… Either way it [...]
