What did I ever do…

Friday, February 27th, 2004

What did ever do to anyone to deserve the medical issues I have? I mean, I can’t complain to as I can walk, and talk and take care of myself, which is much better than other unfortunately souls. BUT, I’m just really trying to understand what I ever did to deserve all this. [...]

Website Tweaks

Friday, February 27th, 2004

As you may notice I have made a little bit a tweaky changes to the web site… I’m playing around with layout changes, and possibly even re-writing the entire thing from scratch. The thing I’m thinking of is some sort of web delivery system, similar to php-nuke, but written to suite the way I [...]

CCache Temp Files – (Trouble with Tribbles)

Tuesday, February 24th, 2004

As I find myself sitting here for the past 10 minutes while system deletes all the files in /root/.ccache (GCC caching system to improve compile speeds), I think to myself how I should really have read instructions before jumping head first into this. Of course all I did was read the docs on gentoo [...]

Insert Scream Here

Thursday, February 19th, 2004

AAAAAHHHH!!!! After all that they just now release 2.6.3 I’ll give a few days but I may start playing with it once I get some free time due to some continued issues I’m having with the 2.6.2:
the acpi poweroff doesn’t work
wireless scanning via orinoco monitor patch freezes the system (no kernel [...]

Photos Added

Wednesday, February 18th, 2004

Well I have officially added the last of the South Carolina Trip pictures into may photo gallery, and added proper captions to all of the images (I know I know… I couldn’t sleep and had nothing better to do). Plus I also want to note that I probably will be removing the mac -> [...]

KWireless_Monitor?

Wednesday, February 18th, 2004

Thinking about an applet that might be worth creating… One thing that I found very useful within gnome was the VERY nice gwireless_applet. I realize that kwifimanager is available, but it’s much more than what I’m looking for, plus the timing algorithm for the monitor is graphically buggy… I’m [...]

Laptop Kernel Update (Sigh…)

Wednesday, February 18th, 2004

I think maybe the frame-buffer for the console might have been causing some of the perceived performance issues. After having removed that everthing seems to be much better (I know nothing of kernel code so I couldn’t tell you why). I did also add a few things in terms of the built [...]

Laptop Kernel Update (Attempt #2)

Wednesday, February 18th, 2004

Well… trying again, as there seems to be 2 issues with the configuration that I setup. First performance went to hell and second the acpi_power_off command sent to the processor on halt fails… So … we’ll see what revision 2 brings…

Laptop Kernel Update

Tuesday, February 17th, 2004

Now after finally getting the guts, I have done a kernel update to linux 2.6.2. Not to mention the Win4Lin patches + the Orinoco Monitor Patch so I can search for wireless networks… Here are all the current configuration files and patches I used

kernel config
XF86Config for 1 screen (no [...]
